Suez University Student Chapter Hosts 2 Dynamic Events, Launches New Magazine & Website

PULSE 2026 – Where Future Engineers Meet Real Industry

The IADC Suez University Student Chapter recently hosted PULSE 2026, a one-day industry exposure event held at the Faculty of Petroleum & Mining Engineering at Suez University. Designed to connect students with real-world engineering practice, the event featured technical sessions on well control, formation evaluation, and drilling fluids, presented by experienced professionals from ADES, Sahar Oil & Gas, and Halliburton. Students also put their knowledge to the test through WellSharp and OPA Technical Tests, and competed in both a main competition sponsored by ADES and a poster competition sponsored by BGS Energy Services.

PULSE 2026 proved to be a highly engaging day that gave future petroleum engineers direct access to industry insight and hands-on challenges. With support from Diamond Sponsor ADES, Platinum Sponsor BGS Energy Services, and Technical Sponsor OPA, the event succeeded in closing the gap between classroom learning and industry application. Well done to the entire IADC Suez team on delivering another impactful event for the student community.

PEAKS 2026 – Petroleum Engineering Advancements and Knowledge Summit

The IADC Suez University Student Chapter, in collaboration with the SPE British University Student Chapter, held the second edition of PEAKS on 28-29 April 2026 at The British University in Egypt. This year’s summit expanded to two full days, drawing students, professionals, and industry leaders together for an immersive experience built around technical learning and career development. Attendees participated in expert-led sessions and hands-on labs covering topics ranging from drilling fluids and digital drilling to LWD technologies, reservoir monitoring, and well control—with presentations delivered by industry partners including SLB, Baker Hughes, Anton Oil, OPA Energy, and ADES. Students also competed in multiple competitions, including the WellSharp Arena and the ADES Drilling Problem Scenario Competition, with top finishers earning recognition and prizes.

Beyond the technical programming, PEAKS 2026 served as a meaningful bridge between students and the energy industry, with networking opportunities that opened doors to internships, mentorships, and career pathways. The event was made possible through the generous support of sponsors including Diamond Sponsor ADES, Golden Sponsor Borais Petroleum Investment Co., and Silver Sponsor BGS Energy Services. Congratulations to the IADC Suez team on another outstanding edition—we look forward to seeing PEAKS continue to grow.

Launch of Explore Magazine & New Website

The IADC SU Student Chapter also launched EXPLORE in April 2026—their first annual non-technical magazine, designed to help students navigate career development, workplace readiness, and personal growth. Debuted at the Egypt Career Summit for maximum reach, the magazine features career-oriented articles, professional interviews, and real success stories, all presented in an approachable style that resonates with students preparing to enter the workforce. The initiative was a fully student-driven effort, giving the team hands-on experience in content creation and project execution from start to finish.

Supported by Diamond Sponsor ADES, EXPLORE 2026 marks an exciting new chapter for the IADC Suez community—one that extends the chapter’s impact well beyond technical programming. The full magazine is available to read online

Additionally, the official website of IADC Suez University Student Chapter is now live. It provides access to explore the Chapter’s latest events, access technical articles, read the magazine, and stay updated on activities.
