On 20 October, the IADC Southeast Asia Chapter (SEAC) hosted its Annual General Meeting for 2023. The event opened with welcoming remarks given by SEAC Chairman Arthur Russi, followed by three guest presentations:

Peter Hone, Rig Inspection Manager APAC/SEA, ABL Group
Topic – Cultural Humility: The key to safer and more harmonious workplaces
Jean-Christophe LE GUEN, Head of Projects – Asset Management, Sapura Energy Bhd
Topic – Integrated Rig Drilling and Completion (IRDC) in Oil & Gas: A pioneering endeavour transforming drilling contracting in Malaysia
After the guest presentations, the Chapter discussed business matters and updates, during which Members had the opportunity to vote on the following Chapter matters:
- The election of 2024 Chapter Officers
- Continuing advocacy work with the relevant Indonesia Petroleum Association (IPA) Committees to jointly address the priority industry issues common to both associations’ members, i.e., Indonesian Cabotage Legislation and Regulation
- Commitment to a one-time contribution amount of U.S. $3,500 will be allotted to the IADC UTP Student Chapter bank account from the SEAC towards enhancing ongoing student chapter activities, events, and plans
- Sponsorship of the 2023 HSE Awards presentation (including plaques and networking event to celebrate the winners) in 2024
