IADC sponsored 22 students to attend India Energy Week 2026 in Goa, India from 27-30 January. In attendance were representatives from the IADC Student Chapters at the Indian Institute of Technology IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), and MIT World Peace University.
Objectives for student attendance at this prestigious industry event included:
- Gaining first-hand exposure to emerging technologies, innovations, and best practices across the broader energy sector
- Exploring advancements in drilling automation, well control, digitalization, and safety management systems relevant to upstream oil and gas operations
- Interacting with industry experts, policymakers, and technology providers to comprehend current challenges, regulatory frameworks, and future roadmaps of the Indian and global energy sectors
- Enhancing professional awareness of global energy trends and building an industry perspective essential for career development in the energy and drilling sectors
In a thorough report of the event, students referred to this experience as “deeply eye-opening and enriching.” Students stated within the report,
“Overall, IEW 2026 served as a powerful bridge between theory and practice, motivating us to continuously upskill, embrace emerging technologies, and pursue meaningful careers within the evolving energy transition landscape.”
