IADC North Sea Chapter Announces Vice Chair Transition

Donna Gray, incoming Associate Vice Chair of the IADC North Sea Chapter

The start of 2026 marked a changing of the guard for the IADC North Sea Chapter, as the Chapter extended its thanks to outgoing Associate Vice Chair, Paul Brown, and welcomed Donna Gray as his successor.

During his three-year tenure, Paul played a pivotal role in strengthening the Chapter’s presence and influence. A committed advocate for the sector, he engaged with policymakers, elevated the Chapter’s profile, and consistently championed the interests of the wider industry. His passion for oil and gas – and for the supply chain that underpins it – has been central to his contributions.

Reflecting on the outlook for the North Sea, Paul remains confident:

“Oil and gas is here to stay. There’s incredible talent in this industry, especially in Aberdeen. The IADC North Sea Chapter supports the entire supply chain, uniting behind a common cause and collaborating to be a stronger voice. It is the one organisation solely focused on the drilling industry, representing a breadth of companies that permeate our sector. The supply chain is what makes our industry so special, and the IADC will continue to fight for it.”

Donna steps into the role alongside fellow Associate Vice Chair David Wade, bringing with her two decades of industry experience. Having served on the Chapter’s steering committee for the past three years, she is well acquainted with both its membership and its mission.

Speaking about her appointment, she said:

“Through my ongoing involvement with IADC, I have become deeply passionate about its mission and its role in driving positive change across our industry through advocacy and education. I’ve seen the organisation grow and diversify, helping to unite a wide range of companies and individuals across the drilling sector. The chapter has made significant progress in engaging with government and championing mental health – momentum I hope to continue building as I step into the role. As Vice Chair, I aim to make a meaningful difference in the region. My goal is to inspire the next generation, creating opportunities for young people to engage with and experience the UKCS drilling sector.”

Stuart Clow, IADC Regional Director, also paid tribute to Paul’s contribution:

“On behalf of Rochelle and myself, I would like to thank Paul for his hard work, commitment and dedication in the Vice Chair role for our Associate Members. His three-year tenure has flown by and it has been a pleasure working with him. We are delighted to welcome Donna as our new Vice Chair and look forward to working alongside her to represent our members and advocate for our industry.”
