Roddie Mackenzie, IADC 2026 Chairman, and Thad Dunham, IADC VP of Government & Industry Affairs – Onshore, recently had the opportunity to visit Precision Drilling Rig 562 in Brighton, Colorado. The rig is drilling for Occidental and runs off the electric grid.
According to Thad, “It was impressive to see firsthand how this rig operates entirely from Colorado’s electric grid. This is an extremely quiet (and emission free) drilling rig.”
During the visit, great conversations about operational efficiency, technology, and the industry’s evolving energy landscape took place. Thank you to Gene Stahl, Trevor Haviland, and the Precision Drilling team for the tour and for showcasing the capabilities of Rig 562.
