The final draft of the revised Standard Format Equipment List (SFEL) for Jack-Up Drilling Units has been completed. This is the first update since 1993. The SFEL summarizes key rig equipment to streamline tendering for contractors and operators.
Led by Stuart Clow, IADC Regional Director – North Sea Chapter, with Allan Grindlay and Danny Bisset of Borr Drilling and students from the IADC Student Chapter at the Indian Institute of Technology, the workgroup rebuilt the list as a shared Excel workbook. New features include an expandable table of contents, an Add Rig template, side-by-side fleet comparison, built-in unit converters and password-protected editing.
