PDEU Student Chapter Celebrates 5 Year Anniversary!

The IADC PDEU Student Chapter marked a significant milestone on 13 October, celebrating five years of excellence in drilling and energy sector education. The commemorative event, held at PDEU campus, brought together university leadership including Director Dr. Rajesh Patel, Dean R&D Dr. Bhawani Singh Desai, and HOD Dr. Hari Sreenivasan, alongside faculty mentors and members of the student body to honor the Chapter’s achievements and impact.

The highlight of the celebration was a technical session on “Drilling Dynamics and Well Control” delivered by Mr. Bhumin Baraiya, Assistant Executive Drilling Engineer at ONGC and PDEU alumnus. His expertise brought real-world insights into critical topics including kick detection, well control methods, and pressure management techniques, providing students with practical knowledge that bridges classroom learning with industry practice.

Over the past five years, the Chapter has established a strong presence through its participation in global events including the IADC World Drilling Conference, while maintaining its commitment to social responsibility through community initiatives. The anniversary event concluded with formal recognition of all contributors and a ceremonial cake cutting, symbolizing the Chapter’s continued dedication to learning, leadership, and legacy in the energy sector.

Congratulations to the IADC PDEU Student Chapter, and cheers to many more years to come!
