IADC Congratulates Arsenio Dominguez (Panama) on Election as New IMO Secretary-General

Since 1975, IADC has been a Non-Governmental Observer (NGO) member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Direct engagement with the IMO over the past five decades has enabled IADC to provide a substantial voice for its offshore drilling contractor Members and other service and supply contractors subject to IMO authority.

As the leadership of the IMO transitions from Secretary-General Kitack Lim of South Korea to Mr. Arsenio Dominguez of Panama beginning in January 2024, IADC congratulates Mr. Dominguez and the Republic of Panama on this most prestigious accomplishment. Mr. Dominguez’s many years of IMO service leading up to his selection as next Secretary-General will most certainly benefit the expansive array of maritime interests, including the offshore energy industry.

IADC would like to thank Mr. Kitack Lim for his service to the IMO as Secretary-General for the past 8 years. We look forward to continuously working alongside other IMO members on issues of common interest under the leadership of incoming Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez. Congratulations, once again, to Mr. Dominguez!
