Basin Operators to Weigh In on Safer, Faster Wells at IADC Appalachian Forum

What will it take to drill the next generation of Appalachian wells safer, faster and smarter? IADC brings its technical forum series to the Appalachian Basin for the first time on 22 October at Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

As Marcellus and Utica operators push laterals longer and drilling windows tighter, the one-day forum gives field personnel, innovators and operational leaders a space to compare notes and advance well construction performance.

The program features a Basin Operators panel, moderated by Jesse Kwasnicia, Precision Drilling, covering drilling outlook, safety and training, efficiency and equipment. Panelists:

  • Josh Doak, Range Resources
  • Mark Bly, Pennsylvania General Energy Co.
  • Ross Schweitzer, Arsenal Resources
  • Zach Zimmer, PennEnergy Resources

The agenda also covers rig moves, Managed Pressure Drilling case histories, a Pennsylvania regulatory update from the Office of Oil & Gas Management, and a contractor panel on red-zone reduction, offline cementing and remote operations.
