On 16 April, the IADC Supply Chain Committee hosted an “AI Engineering & Prompt Literacy” course, diving into how foundational AI tools and prompt engineering can sharpen supply chain decision-making and streamline day-to-day operations. This event demonstrated the exceptional potential for step-change advancements within the supply-chain management space. The near-instantaneous solutions that can be derived from the employment of AI models is poised to substantially optimize efficiencies targeted towards inventories, distribution, and associated management of change considerations among many other field operations support elements. As clearly acknowledged by this session, the key to leveraging emerging AI capabilities will be cultivating the necessary human interface skills that can drive sophisticated query inputs for desired results.
IADC and the Supply Chain Committee give special thanks to Micah Garrison, Patterson-UTI VP of Supply Chain Management, for presenting, and to Patterson-UTI for graciously hosting this event. The course material presented is fundamental content that will most definitely continue to evolve as an imperative for those seeking to fully leverage AI capabilities.
