On 14 May, the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) announced publication of its summary report of the Offshore Well Completion and Simulation – Using Hydraulic Fracturing and Other Technologies workshop. To increase public understanding of these technologies, the NAS established a committee to convene the workshop on 2-3 October, 2017 in Washington, D.C. The workshop examined the unique features related to operating in the U.S. offshore environment, including well completion and simulation technologies, environmental considerations and concerns and health and safety management. The publication summarizes the presentations and discussions from the workshop.
The full report on the Workshop can be found on the NAS website.
