Giving Back

Every year at the IADC North Sea Chapter (NSC) Annual Safety Awards, the Chapter arranges a money table collection for two chosen local charities. Thanks to the generous contributions during the Safety Awards, the NSC donated £2,500 to both charities — AberNecessities and Mental Health Aberdeen

AberNecessities provides disadvantaged families with the essential and basic necessities to reduce the impact of poverty on children in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Mental Health Aberdeen provides counselling services to people across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire who are experiencing difficult times in their lives.

Mental Health In Energy Updates

The North Sea Chapter has recently published a new website and LinkedIn page for its Mental Health In Energy initiative. In 2023, this initiative was born out of the IADC North Sea Chapter to begin a collaborative cultural shift from the top down to effectively address the issue of the current state of mental health in the energy industry.

Going forward, everything communicated about the Mental Health In Energy initiative, including the charter and the Mental Health task force, will be communicated via the newly established website and LinkedIn page.

According to the NSC:

This launch is a pivotal point in our journey and the progress we have made. Our “new look” represents the collaborative efforts across the spectrum of our energy industry and we are looking forward to continued collective effort and progress in line with our mission: “To challenge the status quo and actively support the energy industry in delivering a legacy of change in how Mental Health is viewed and managed across the workforce.”
