On 28 January, the IADC KFUPM Student Chapter had the honor of hosting an expert talk titled “Safety Management in the Drilling Industry,” delivered by Dr. Emad Elshaer, QHSSE Manager at ADES. Dr. Emad shared his rich experience and insightful perspectives on safety systems, risk management, human factors, HSE innovations, and career development in drilling.
The IADC KFUPM Student Chapter, in collaboration with Halliburton, successfully conducted a full-day intensive technical workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI in drilling engineering on 12 February. The workshop brought together students and researchers for an intensive learning experience focused on the growing impact of AI and GenAI in drilling operations and decision-making. Throughout the day, participants explored real-world applications, digital solutions, and emerging technologies that are shaping the future of the energy industry. Special thanks to the speakers of the day, Mr. Wael Korosh and Mr. Bilal Hungund, for sharing their expertise and providing deep technical insights about AI and GenAI and the impact in drilling engineering.
