SLB VISIT
The IADC South Central Asia Chapter (SCAC) Young Professionals Sub-committee recently organized two industrial visits, which Members of the IADC MIT Student Chapter participated in. On 10 October, a group visited the SLB Mahape Yard. Key highlights of the visit included:
- HSE Induction – Site safety protocols, PPE compliance, and yard safety culture
- SLB Corporate & Technology Overview – Global footprint, business structure, and legacy of innovation
- Digital Drilling Technologies – Insights into DrillOps Advisory & Automation, Neuro Autonomous Directional Drilling, and Geosphere 360
- Yard Visit – Practical exposure to tools, systems, and operational workflows
This Industrial visit was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Yogesh Mohite, Chandan Majumdar, Shraddha Kumbhar, Mayank Jain, Milind Shinde, and Ronald Dmello, whose expertise and mentorship added immense value to the learning experience. The IADC MIT Student Chapter presented its initiatives and vision through a session by Khushi Anand, further strengthening the bridge between academia and industry. The initiative was proudly supported by Siraj Ahmed Bhatkar, Om Prakash Singh, Arun Karle, and Shobha Uttam with coordination efforts led by Akshay S. Manjramkar.
HALLIBURTON VISIT
On 16 October, young professionals and students had an engaging and insightful day of learning and interaction with industry experts at Halliburton – Taloja Base. The visit provided students from MIT-WPU a unique opportunity to explore real-world oilfield operations, safety culture, and cutting-edge drilling technologies. Key highlights of this visit included:
- HSE Induction – Journey to Zero, Halliburton Life Rules, Critical Focus Area, Halliburton Management System
- Halliburton Overview – Insights on operations, culture, and technological advancements
- M/LWD Fundamentals & Tools – Real-time tool demonstrations, shop practices, QA/QC workflows, CBM framework, and EM wave resistivity
- Pulse Telemetry & Pulser Systems – Energy conversion, pulser functionality, hydraulic pulser rig demo, valve/filter checks, and Megger insulation test
This visit was made possible through the dedicated support of Abhishek Awasthi, Kishore Menon, Bhavesh Ravariya, Raj Sankaran, Anushka Saktavat, Chaitanya Devaguptapu, Sagar Mhatre, Gaurav Singavi and the entire Halliburton Taloja team. This initiative was proudly facilitated by Om Prakash Singh, Arun Karle, Shobha Uttam, and Akshay S. Manjramkar (IADC Student Chapter Liaison and IADC SAC Chapter’s Young Professional Sub-committee).
