On 30 January 2026, Members gathered for the IADC Nigeria Chapter 2025 Director’s Annual General Meeting. The agenda included a safety moment, Chairman’s report, 2025 financial report, 2026 budget, IADC HQ update, and presentation of awards.
The Chapter also held elections for leadership positions. Congratulations to the incoming officers:
- Chairman: Mrs. Funmi Babatunde – Shelf Drilling Nigeria Limited
- Vice Chairman: Mr. Abiodun Olusola Akala – Selective Marine Oil & Gas Limited
- Secretary: Mrs. Ebele Nnaji – Depthwize Nigeria Limited
- Treasurer: Ms. Isioma Okonkwo – Aviam Offshore Engineering Company Limited
In an email to Members, the Chapter stated, “We are pleased to note that the AGM, which was also an election year, was successfully concluded, culminating in the emergence of a new Executive Committee. We congratulate the incoming leadership and express our gratitude to the outgoing Exco for their commitment and service, as well as the strong foundations they have established. We wish the new leadership a productive and impactful tenure.”
Additionally, Members of the IADC Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Student Chapter, the only IADC Student Chapter in Africa, were in attendance. The Student Chapter presented their recent activities and plans for this upcoming year. Awards were presented to Exco Members who championed the establishment of the Student Chapter, which was a meaningful highlight and a testament to the lasting impact of the outgoing administration.
