      An innovative system for early detection of fluid kicks and losses during deep drilling operations is presented. By continuously monitoring differential flow using high-resolution Coriolis-type flowmeters, the system enhances safety and well control. It enables real-time identification of anomalies, optimizing mud weights and drilling parameters while reducing operational risks and costs in challenging high-pressure environments.

      The paper substantiates the need to evaluate drilling efficiency not only by footage of drilling, but by in formability of drilling also. A new technology for PPFG prediction and visualization of subsurface is described, based on high-resolution seismic data transformed into a 3D pressure cube. The usage of such a pressure cube allows us to optimize the trajectory, avoid dangerous areas, predict fluids, and even to discover marginal HC deposits.

      The selected remedial method involves placing a chemical sealant in the annulus from the top, downwards to casing shoe. A nanotechnology-based enhanced sealant was chosen for its ability to seal the microcannulas channels by polymerizing upon contact with cement, can penetrate and seal leakage pathways as small as 20 micrometers, making it an ideal solution for liquidation of SCP, for the wells with micro-cracks or micro-channels.

      Tailored Loss Circulation Cement Spacer to Mitigate Losses in Malih and Abu Tabul Fields of Oman: Alamjad Al Ghafri, Cement Engineer, Halliburton
      The novel loss circulation spacer that is designed and used to meet the specific job objectives of the 13-3/8in casing cementing jobs across highly permeable and depleted zones is presented. The spacer was used to reduce the impact of formation permeability and micro fractures while preventing lost circulation and maintaining wellbore stability during the entire cementing operation. The spacer used in these jobs has proven to deliver cementing assurances.

      Successful Abandonment Plugs using Bottom Hole Disconnect Tool over Long Intervals: Sara Al Adhali, Technical Professional – Cementing, Halliburton
      The plug and abandon operation was performed on a horizontal well with an inclination of more than 80°. A torque capable bottom hole disconnect tool was used in 20+ wells in which the sacrificial pipe was left inside the hole, and a dart was used for the displacement of cement through the pipes and for the release mechanism. All jobs were done as planned and all wells were tagged successfully. Positive feedback was received from customer.

      The presentation will show an automated workflow for CO2 Injection Well Design using a cloud-based software tool. It will highlight the technology stack behind the subject cloud software tool and will discuss Design Challenges for CCUS CO2 Injection Wells. The suggested CCUS Well design process (Tubular Stress Analysis, Thermal Simulation, Custom Loads Modeling, Multi-string Analysis, and Blowout & Kill Simulation) will also briefly be discussed.

      Outcrop digitalization and how, by using AI models, we can find reservoir homogeneity and heterogeneity will be outlined. By using these models and giving their data to an algorithm we can learn outcrop in detail and are able to predict what kind of reservoir we have.

      Casing running represents less than 10% of well cycle time, but accounts for more than 50% of lethal accidents on a drilling rig (IADC). However, a safe and efficient casing run is essential in the process of completing the well. This presentation outlines the technical and engineering details evaluated prior to successfully achieving the deepest casing run performed in Colombia.

      A critical offshore fishing operation retrieved a lost plug, coil tubing, and fishing BHA, avoiding costly workovers. Through detailed planning, risk assessment, and advanced fishing tools, field personnel and engineers successfully restored well production. The operation saved millions in direct costs, underscoring the importance of efficient fishing techniques in enhancing operational efficiency and reducing expenses in oil and gas operations.

      Exhibition Information

      The IADC Drilling Caspian Conference & Exhibition is the perfect opportunity for you to position yourself in front of the International Drilling Industry.

      Cost for the 3 x 2 meter Table Top Space + 2 complimentary registrations is USD 2.250.

      The space will be set with a skirted table (size 180 cm wide x 45 cm deep, 80 cm height), two chairs and access to electricity. With the space, you receive 2 complimentary/free conference registrations and up to 2 additional registrations at half price (USD 375).

      Exhibitions at IADC events will be limited to showcasing products and services that advance technology, competency or HSE. Exhibitions centered on recruitment or employment should not take space at IADC events. IADC Exhibitions will solely be visited by conference attendees. Non-conference attendees are not allowed to enter the exhibition area.

      PLEASE NOTE THAT IADC MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR BOOKING AN EXHIBITION SPACE AT THIS EVENT.
