Drilling Industry Safety and Training Focus During OSHA Safe and Sound Week
Houston (15 June 2017) – The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) shares OSHA’s commitment to workplace safety and is supportive of the administration’s efforts to raise awareness and understanding of the value of workplace safety and health programs.
“The drilling industry maintains a firm commitment to putting the safety of their employees first. At IADC, we are also committed to promoting a safe workplace, and we believe that starts with training,” said Jason McFarland, IADC President. “Our rigorous training and accreditation programs cover a wide variety of industry positions and are devised by many of the industry’s leading experts. A well-trained and competent employee ultimately ensures the safety of everyone on a rig, and we believe this contributes to the steep decline in incident rates since the 1960’s. IADC is also aligned with OSHA on industry standards and we work closely with state regulatory agencies to proactively identify and address health, safety and environmental concerns.”
