Drilltools Ltd is an independent engineering design and development company who specialise in innovative solutions to drilling problems. Founded in 2014, the company has its office, manufacturing and operations base in Aberdeen. The directors of Drilltools have many decades of experience in oil, gas and geothermal well drilling and intervention from an operator and service provider perspective. This experience is carried through into their designs. The focus of design is the improvement of safety, efficiency and compliance of drilling operations, especially in the more challenging environments of HPHT, MPD and UBD.
Our products have an extensive track record of well over 100 successful drilling BHA runs and are used repeatedly by several Super Majors.

The Drilltools team focuses on the provision of high specification drill string NRV’s for use as safety critical well control barrier elements in operations such as MPD with statically underbalanced fluids.
The DT family of 15kPsi gas tight dual flapper safety valves incorporate a combination of design features to provide solutions required to address a number of oilfield drilling functions where conventional NRV designs have significant reliability issues resulting in NPT and well control events.
All valves are manufactured and tested in compliance with API Specification 7NRV 2012 – Specification for Drill String Non-Return Valves (DNV witnessed). Valve designs have undergone an independent design review by DNV and with the relevant witnessing of tests, can be certified to DNVGL-OS-E101.
Valves are available in 4 ¾“ OD, 7” OD and 8 ¼” OD sizing and are all available in standard or H2S specification for downhole and/or surface use where they can be locked open for wireline access.
