Safety winners announced at the North Sea Chapter’s annual ceremony

IADC North Sea Chapter members gathered to celebrate the success of contenders, runners-up and winner at their annual dinner and safety awards ceremony in Aberdeen. The awards were presented by IADC North Sea Chapter Chairman Glenn White, Rowan Drilling.

The contenders, runners-up and winners were announced in the categories:

·         Best Safety Performance 2010

·         Merit awards for Outstanding Safety Performance

·         Associate Members award

·         Environmental Award

·         Chairman’s Special Award

390 drilling contractor members, associate members of IADC North Sea Chapter and their guests attended the dinner held at Mercure Ardoe Hotel which was compèred by celebrity Master of Ceremonies, Dougie Vipond. Matt Ralls, Rowan Companies, IADC Chairman for 2011 spoke on behalf of the international organisation and James Munro, HSE spoke on safety for those working in the UK offshore drilling industry.  Jon Culshaw provided the after-dinner entertainment, with an extensive and entertaining array of impressions.
